Tripoli e la guerra da fermare

Intanto che il portavoce di Haftar continua a parlare di terroristi a Tripoli sostenendo che la città costiera sia “ostaggio” dell’ISIS, e mentre le fake news gestite dall’LNA si moltiplicano, la Capitale della Libia prosegue la propria quotidianità di una domenica densa di preoccupazione. 

Il ministero della Salute del governo di unità nazionale (GNA) ha reso noto che almeno 21 persone sono morte e altre 27 sono rimaste ferite oggi negli scontri tra l’esercito nazionale libico e i militari che fanno capo dal generale Khalifa Haftar, nelle periferie di Tripoli.

Il comunicato diffuso su Facebook parla di “21 morti e 27 feriti”. Tra i civili si parla di 4 morti.

Ma la guerra non è entrata a Tripoli e le forze dell’LNA stanno perdendo terreno.

Una ultim’ora dice che la Libya Air Force ha bombardato la base aerea di Wattiya vicino al confine con la Tunisia per essere utilizzata da collaboratori con gli invasori orientali (LNA) per attaccare aerei sul campo Naqliya lungo la strada verso l’aeroporto (Airport Road), nonostante le precedenti promesse da parte di LNA di mantenere la base aerea lontana dai combattimenti.

Roma, 6 Aprile 2019 – Diplomats at work in an attempt to stop the new civil war in Libya. Fayez al Serraj, Prime Minister of the Libyan National Accord Government (GNA) in a speech a few moments ago addressed the Libyan people talking about the efforts made for the reconstruction of Libya after the gaddafi and accused the Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar of treason. “This is a war that will have no winners,” Serraj said.

And some minutes ago, US Deputy Sec. of State Sullivan has expressed more than concern on Libya: “We are urging that the parties stand down. An incursion into Tripoli would be an exceedingly bad and dangerous move.”

The Tripoli government called on the French ambassador to protest against Paris’s support for Haftar.

This morning, the President of the Council, Giuseppe Conte, had a telephone conversation this morning with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

President Conte expressed his concern about the latest developments in Libya, a concern strongly shared by Guterres whorecently left the Libyan country after several meetings, including the one with Haftar.
The President Conte reiterated Italy’s strong support for the United Nations-led political transition process, considered the most effective and sustainable way to achieve the final pacification and stabilization of the country for the benefit of the entire Libyan people.

The President Conte and the Secretary General Guterres will remain in close connection in the coming days. The resumption of an effective dialogue between the parties remains the goal shared by the international community, which already in various formats – as last time in the declaration of the G7 Foreign Ministers – expressed itself in this sense.

Il comandante libico orientale Khalifa Haftar ha ordinato alle sue truppe di marciare sulla capitale Tripoli, portando il suo conflitto con il governo internazionalmente riconosciuto a un nuovo livello pericoloso.
Il segretario generale U.N. Antonio Guterres, che è a Tripoli cercando di spingere un accordo di pace internazionale, ha chiesto moderazione. Alla domanda sulla dichiarazione di Haftar, ha detto che la Libia aveva bisogno di una soluzione politica non militare.

Haftar ha dato il suo ordine in un video pubblicato online ore dopo che le sue forze hanno preso il pieno controllo di Gharyan, una città a circa 100 km (60 miglia) a sud della capitale.
